dbt Cloud

Connect dbt Cloud to Veezoo and import your dbt model and column descriptions into the Knowledge Graph.

Veezoo's dbt Cloud integration imports the descriptions you maintain in dbt into the Knowledge Graph, so the AI gets the same business context your data team already documented.

Connecting dbt Cloud

An Admin connects dbt Cloud once for the entire organization:

  1. In dbt Cloud, create a Service Token. The token only needs Metadata permissions.
  2. In Veezoo, go to Admin > Integrations, find the dbt Cloud card, and click Configure.
  3. Enter the Service Token. Veezoo verifies the token before saving it.

Importing descriptions

Once connected, Creators can import descriptions per Knowledge Graph in Veezoo Studio > dbt Cloud Sync:

  1. Enter the dbt Cloud Job ID to sync descriptions from. The job must include a dbt docs generate step - otherwise no column descriptions are available.
  2. Click Get Descriptions. Veezoo matches the dbt models and columns to the concepts in your Knowledge Graph and shows the dbt description next to the current one.
  3. Select the descriptions you want to import and click Update.

The imported texts are stored as the concepts' descriptions in the Knowledge Graph, where the AI uses them as context when answering questions.
