Setup in GitHub

GitHub Cloud

For an organization hosted on github.com, follow the official GitHub MCP setup guide:

1. Navigate to Personal access tokens and create a fine-grained token.
2. Grant permissions matching the tools you need.
3. If your organization requires approval, have an organization admin approve the token.

GitHub Enterprise Cloud

Create a fine-grained personal access token for the Enterprise Cloud organization and grant permissions matching the tools you need, following the analogous steps as for "GitHub Cloud" above.

Enterprise Cloud organizations hosted on github.com use GitHub's standard MCP endpoint. Enterprises with data residency on ghe.com use an enterprise-specific endpoint based on their subdomain. For example, the enterprise URL https://octocorp.ghe.com uses the MCP endpoint https://copilot-api.octocorp.ghe.com/mcp.

GitHub Enterprise Server (self-hosted)

GitHub does not provide a hosted remote MCP endpoint for GitHub Enterprise Server. Deploy the official GitHub MCP server in Streamable HTTP mode, pointing it at your GitHub Enterprise Server instance. For example:

  --base-url https://mcp.example.com

Expose the MCP server through HTTPS at the URL passed to --base-url. Create the personal access token on your GitHub Enterprise Server instance and grant permissions matching the tools you need.

Configure Veezoo

In Veezoo, open Admin > MCP Connectors > Catalog, choose GitHub, and configure the fields for your deployment:

GitHub Cloud

Leave the pre-filled Server URL unchanged. Simply paste the generated access token into Personal access token.

GitHub Enterprise Cloud

For an organization hosted on github.com, leave the pre-filled Server URL unchanged. For Enterprise Cloud with data residency, change Server URL to https://copilot-api.{ENTERPRISE_SUBDOMAIN}.ghe.com/mcp, replacing {ENTERPRISE_SUBDOMAIN} with the subdomain of your enterprise's ghe.com address. Paste the generated access token into Personal access token.

GitHub Enterprise Server (self-hosted)

Change Server URL to the externally reachable --base-url of your administrator-managed GitHub MCP server, for example https://mcp.example.com. Paste the token created on your GitHub Enterprise Server instance into Personal access token.

Finalizing the Configuration

After testing the connection, finalize the configuration by:

• Optionally configuring access restrictions
• Enabling / disabling individual tools and configuring their confirmation policies
